Below is a product of being bored. I was flipping through my pictures tonight and found a picture I took of myself in the mirror earlier this year. Before it wasn't much of a picture except me pointing the camera at myself. I thought to myself,
what the heck let's edit this bad boy and see what happens.
The more I got into editing the more I realized that I had a goal for this picture. Below is how I envision myself when I'm taking pictures, or at least how I think I should be when taking pictures.
It's funny because when I'm taking pictures, I don't notice anything around me except for what my lens is pointed at. I even have a hard time noticing myself, at least it's difficult to be 100% aware of myself. I find myself kneeling for way longer than my old man knees can practically stand and only noticing as soon as the shutter clicks. The camera is about the only in clear focus when I'm out hunting pictures. The most interesting thing about this is that everything around me, myself included, is even more blurred when a photo opportunity spontaneously presents itself.
Not much to this, just more of a self-description for myself than anything but I propose this to you:
Next time you're doing something you love, take a second and evaluate how you see yourself in the moment. Do you have a "zone"? What is that thing for you? Think about it, you might find yourself better focusing afterwards... or thinking your crazy:) Either is possible.
Adios!
