Who I Am

I'm a simple man trying to live a simple life.  And I apparently like cliches as well.  Currently I'm an English student at Eastern Washington University (Yes I study English. Yes my grammar is atrocious. Sue me... not really).  As it turns out, I'm also a Barista Extraordinaire at Forza Coffee Company on the South Hill of Spokane, WA.  It's a pretty good gig considering I like coffee and talking with people. Other than that I simply do what I enjoy; spending time with my wonderful girlfriend, taking photos, writing, spending time in nature, and doing things with my own two hands.

The last little hobby of mine stems from growing up working on a farm. That farm is the cause of a lot of my personal characteristics and hobbies; most obvious of which would be the topics of this blog.  One thing that you learn working on the farm is that money is always tight.  That being said, you're forced to be creative in the way you build, fix, or do things in order to save what little money you have. That mentality tends to stick with a person once they're forced to adopt it; myself being a perfect example.

Now, a few years later, I take pride in and get pleasure out of my desire to be as thrifty as possible.  It is my personal opinion that many of my parents generation and most of my generation have lost the desire to do as much of our own work as possible whether it be a product of time, society, or circumstances.  I'm not here to debate that fact, but rather to help and encourage those wishing to reclaim that "do-it-yourself" mentality. And that ladies and gentlemen... is who I am and what I'm about.

I hope you enjoy reading this blog and that hopefully you'll be able to implement a few of these thoughts and practices in your own lives!

Cheers,

Connor
