For the record Google, I'm not a fan of this new Blogger set-up. Not. One. Bit.
In addition to that, it's been far too long since I've written last and I'm definitely anxious to get back to it now that I've gotten settled in. For those of you who didn't know, I've moved to Spokane to attend my sophomore year at Eastern Washington University - a decision I'm definitely stoked to start.
That being said, a lot of things have happened in the past few weeks. I've moved, gotten my own apartment, my girlfriend turned 20, and.... because of that I might have gotten her a kitten for her birthday. And might I say she is rather adorable!
Let me tell you the story of how this got all started...
For weeks now Reina has been browbeating me (lovingly of course) to get her a kitten for her birthday. At first I was able to hold off for a couple weeks after she moved. Then she was able to work me down to as soon as she was settled. But inevitably, she whittled me down to a week before she left Yakima. As a result...
Meet Eleanor :)
She has obviously presented me with a plethora of photo-taking opportunities. And as I said earlier, she is quite adorable isn't she? Don't let that fool you though, she is quite the little stinker... both literally and figuratively.
She has an attitude to rival that of a fourteen year old girl and quite literally stinks up Reina's entire place. I've never known a cat to fart, let alone clear a room but Ellie does just that.
None-the-less, we both love her like a child and she is treated as such. Spoiled more often than not, punished when she's being too much of a little snot, and talked about more than anything else these days.
I fear the day that Ellie is no longer a kitten, but I have hope that she won't become a stereotypical cat. When picking out Ellie, Reina and I were very sure on wanting a lively kitten so it might grow up to be an exciting and fun-loving cat. What we didn't want was the stereotypical cat that sits on the ledge staring at you while it plans your own demise.
Time will tell but hopefully Reina's new kitten will continue to be spunky and exciting even into adulthood. Until then though, we definitely have our hands full with this little one. Reina sure is enjoying her birthday present and despite not really being a cat person, I am too.
I mean really, how can you not like this???
