Said Manuscript |
Instead, I will be dragging out my old manuscript again in an attempt to find a publisher. It's been done for a little over a year now and despite my fears of letting it go I've realized that it's either now or never.
My problem has been that catch-22 of editing. Don't get me wrong, editing is incredibly important... monumental some would say.... and I'll probably give it one last once over for grammatical errors. But, I keep going over the 200-some page manuscript changing minuscule details that end up causing huge re-writes later on in the book. But no more!!
Therefore, tomorrow, in between loads of laundry and dishes I will be scouring the internets for publishers that look like they might take a gander at what I've got. Unfortunately the ratio for hearing back at all is something like 12:1. Yeah.. if you want to be depressed try selling a novel. So that means I'll be sending out tons of letters in the hopes of hearing back from maybe one or two people.
Wish me luck!
